3 BR APARTMENT near Notting Hill, LONDON

This is a very nice 3 bedroom apartment (80 sqm) located off St Mark's Road (W10) near Notting Hill. The Portobello Road Antiques market is world famous as well as the everyday fruit and vegetable market, the cafés and restaurants and shops... Have a look at the book 'Portobello' by Ruth Rendell, which is a good and humourous introduction to the life in Notting Hill...

The apartment is on the ground floor, in a semi-detached house, and has a private garden (with BBQ) and a deck, in a quiet and safe area, off St Mark Road (W10). Hard wood floor, fireplaces, king size bed in the master bedroom (overlooking the garden), twin beds in the second bedroom, a single bed (with a pull-out bed) in the third bedroom, a bright fitted kitchen with all amenities (washer, dishwasher, oven, microwave...): it is a very nice and cosy place to stay. The living room, all in white, with a fireplace, overlooks the front garden (as well as the bedrooms): there are trees and green leaves everywhere! The dining area adjacent to the kitchen can accomodate 6 guests.

There is a bath and shower in the bathroom and separate lavatory. A lot of towels and bedlinen are provided (as well as duvets, pillows etc...). The heating works very well (individual heating gaz boiler). It's a peaceful place to stay, with many sport centres around, and close to the major places in London.

The bathroom and the kitchen have been totally renovated.

The apartment is 10 minutes walk from Portobello Market (or 3 bus stop if you are not in mood for walking...). The nearest tube station is Ladbroke Grove (8 minutes walk). (Hammersmith and City line), the nearest bus stop is 50 meters from the apartment (bus 7).
Notting Hill Gate tube station (Central/District/Circle lines) is 5 bus stops from the apartment.

At Ladbroke Grove, you will find several buses: bus 52 and 452 toward High Street Kensington, Kensington Garden, Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park, Victoria and Albert Museum, Science Museum, Knightsbridge, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Sloane Square; bus 23 toward Westsbourne Grove, Oxford Street, the British Museum, Bloomsbury and the heart of the City; bus 70 leads you to South Kensington.

Shopping: the closest food stores, bakery and fruit and vegetable shops are located on Helen's Gardens that you can reach by walking through the Kensington Memorial Park ( 5 minutes walk). And you can shop of course at the everyday fruit and vegetable market at  Portobello.

Sports: the Westway Sports Centre (tennis, climbing, horse riding...) is about 10 minutes walk. (www.westwaysportscentre.org.uk)

 About the owner Elena

We are a bilingual family caught in between Florence, Tuscany and the West Coast of Scotland. We love beauty and at the same time enjoy cosiness. We love old charm and at the same time enjoy contact with nature. We also love access to museums and theatres and cinemas as well as walks through parks and countryside. We love being close to lively markets and buy antiques and fresh vegetables.

This is why we bought this flat, because it brought together these qualities, because it is an ideal place for us to be in the centre of London, and yet feel we are outside the tourist traps associated with a capital city.

For us this flat is a home and we want to offer it as a homely place to people who can enjoy its charm.
